NEW VILLAGE is published by the 20-year-old public benefit organization Architects/ Designers/ Planners for Social Responsibility (ADPSR). ADPSR works for peace, environmental protection, ecological building, social justice, and the development of healthy communities. CIRCULATION

NEW VILLAGE, a four-year-old annual journal with a circulation of 5,000, is available by subscription and through newsstands and bookstores throughout the United States and parts of Canada. Paid subscribers currently come from 34 states (USA) and 7 countries. The journal is abstracted with several indexing services and is carried by university and public libraries. Because each issue covers a theme in depth and is not time-dated, the journal has a very long life, high pass-along rate, and is often used by universities, government agencies, and community development centers as a textbook.

    Display Ads

    All graphic ads should be supplied as a TIFF, EPS or PDF file.

    Guidelines:
  • Black and white ads require laser proof
  • Four color ads must be accompanied with color proof
  • All printer and screen fonts must be included
  • All ads must be built as final size (i.e. full page 7 5/8 x 10 1/4)
  • No JPEG or RGB links or index color. Save as CMYK for all color ads
  • In Adobe Illustrator EPS files, convert all fonts to outline fonts
  • For full page bleed ads, allow for 1/8 inch trim

  • PDF files:
  • PDF files should be created using Acrobat 4.0 or higher
  • Distill PDF files as "Press Optimized." Use all default settings except in "Job Options" under "Fonts," choose the "Subset All Embedded Fonts Below" and set the percentage at 99%
  • PDF files must have all fonts embedded when saved

  • Professional Services Ads

    Advertiser provides:

  • Business card or pdf of business card art per "PDF files" for display ads.

  • NEW VILLAGE offers type and image setting at a nominal cost. Advertiser needs to provide:

  • Image: black and white EPS/TIFF file (minimum 300 dpi) or velox of logo
  • Copy describing your service.


  • COPY & CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS

    Publisher reserves the right to reject or cancel any advertisement that in our opinion does not conform to the values or standards of NEW VILLAGE and Architects/ Designers/ Planners for Social Responsibility.

    All insertion orders are accepted subject to provisions of the current rate card.

    Orders are due on or before the ad reservation deadline. Orders must specifically state issue and space to be used. All verbal instructions regarding contracts, insertions or changes of any kind are to be confirmed in writing by the advertiser.

    Publisher is not responsible for errors in key numbers or other type set by publisher. The publisher's liability for any error shall not exceed the cost of the space.

    Cancellations or changes in orders will not be accepted after closing date and none may be considered executed unless acknowledged by the publisher.

    In consideration of the acceptance of the advertisement, the advertiser and/or agency assume liability for any and all claims that may arise as a result of advertisements printed and will protect the publisher against any claims arising therefrom.

    All ad rates are subject to change without notice.
