Advertise with New Village!

NEW VILLAGE is a national-interest periodical offering inspiring profiles of grassroots community building. More than a dozen articles plus extensive resources in each themed issue help citizens turn ideas into action.

NEW VILLAGE is a hybrid professional and consumer magazine, whose content includes participatory urban planning, cultural development and social justice, ecological economics and business, education, arts, and the environment. It is one of very few journals addressing community building in any direct way, and the only one taking a holistic and truly inter-disciplinary approach.

NEW VILLAGE builds bridges between practitioners and scholars, and between professionals and community activists. Journal articles are easy-to-read and visually appealing, yet grounded in careful research and good scholarship. An overall coherence offers readers a sense of the field of sustainable community development.

NEW VILLAGE reaches a diverse and influential audience—people directly making change in their own communities or the communities they serve. They are educated, creative, inquisitive, and open minded.

Nowhere else can advertisers reach a higher concentration of progressive readers with an interest in practical, community-scale solutions for social and environmental responsibility than through NEW VILLAGE. Please join us!

Shared Values

NEW VILLAGE is published by the 20-year-old public benefit organization Architects/ Designers/ Planners for Social Responsibility (ADPSR). ADPSR works for peace, environmental protection, ecological building, social justice, and the development of healthy communities. We seek advertisers with products and services aligned with our values. By advertising with our journal, you not only support our publishing effort, you contribute directly to the resources we offer to help build a more sustainable future.

NEW VILLAGE, a four-year-old annual journal with a circulation of 5,000, is available by subscription and through newsstands and bookstores throughout the United States and parts of Canada. Paid subscribers currently come from 34 states (USA) and 7 countries. The journal is abstracted with several indexing services and is carried by university and public libraries. Because each issue covers a theme in depth and is not time-dated, the journal has a very long life, high pass-along rate, and is often used by universities, government agencies, and community development centers as a textbook.
